Feeling Fresh…
Posted on August 10, 2006 by Christine | 9 Comments

These were the flowers on the bush right outside our cabin in the Ozarks. I have no idea what type of flowers they are, but if you do would you let me know? Is it maybe a hibiscus?
I am still making my way through the hundreds of photos I’ve taken in the past 2 weeks. I couldn’t handle the website looking so plan without a photograph, so I had to get this one online. It was my way of celebrating the fact that I registered a domain name tonight that I can use to once again run my photoblog, and maybe even someday as a photography business name if I decide to formally go that route. Fresh Photography. It fits the many facets of my photography – a fresh vision, fresh as in nature and bugs, a fresh look at something otherwise overlooked.
Plus I just like saying “fresssshhhhhhhh.”
So in honor of the new domain, something fresh for you to enjoy!

I doubt its a hibiscus. Hardy hibiscus have dull, medium green leaves; and tropical hibiscus could only be outside one night (maybe two) during a freeze; so I doubt the tropical variety one could survive outside in an Ozarks winter.
But then again, I’m no plant expert. Whatever it is, it’s very lovely.

ummm..it’s a pretty flower but I’m no botanist.
Congrats on the new domain. And you just made me say “fressshhh” out loud at work and people are staring. It IS fun to say!

Clematis. They don’t grow so well down here.

They are lovely and they come in a million cultivars. Typically they are a climbing vine.
Now you have me thinking of that commercial for Subway with Jon Lovitz…
Eat FRESSSSHHHH!

Clematis are a vine, not a bush. They may be something called Rose of Sharon – from the little bit I can see of the leaf. They are in the hibiscus family, but not as big. They come in many lovely colors as well, and this is the right time of year for them. Lovely pic!

It’s a Clematis and they are one of the most beautiful flowers around. Depending on the variety, you can get flowers as big as dinner plates! It’s a beautiful photo!
