Harlot Time!

I forgot to note in my last post – our vacation will not stop me from seeing the Yarn Harlot on her one and only – at last! – stop in Texas in 2006. If you haven’t heard the news already, Stephanie Pearl-McFee is coming to Austin, Texas on Saturday, July 29th. The event is being hosted by the Hill Country Weavers shop and requires that you RSVP as seating is limited and she will only be signing 300 books.
We should all stop for a moment now and ponder signing 300 books. Not just signing our name 300 times, but actually adding a little note to that signature. 300 times. That is a lot of books.
Julia and I are in the process of planning an “after party” for that afternoon since the event is from 10 – 1. Food will be involved, and at the request of the Austin knit bloggers it will be at a location that serves adult beverages. I don’t know about you, but once I see her I will be needing some quality time with knitters, crocheters, and just general fiber fans. So if you plan to be in Austin too, let me know and I will get you the details as soon as we work them out!

Oh maaaaaaaaan. I can’t make it to this — I’ll be in Ohio on vacation. We’re supposed to be coming back the 30th. I’m actually contemplating extending our vacation by a day because she’s going to be in Ann Arbor, MI, which I *could* get to and where I used to live, on the 30th, but I suspect that’s insane and my common sense will be kicking back in any second now.
I’ll just have to think of you and be envious!

Ha! I would totally extend my vacation just to see her! You should do it! Although I thought she was going to OKC when she left Austin?

I have been on the fence on this one, simply because we have so much going on this month, but the after party has sent me over the edge. Sounds like fun! Count me in!

You know I’ll be there! I wanted to suggest maybe meeting down the street at Opal Devine’s south. They have a huge patio that would be able to accomodate us all. Just a thought!
