Sex. It Makes Babies.

First, my disclaimer. I realize that in my “youth” I was not a perfect person. I know this. I am not in denial over it. However, now, older and wiser, there are things that really bother me.
So, I’m watching Current. It is pretty cool – real video clips from just regular people. One is a clip about a guy from Lafayette, LA going over to New Orleans to do rescue with a flat bottom boat. One was about the slums in Africa. Different things. It has been a nice break tonight from “regular” TV.
The latest clip is about “Current Parents” – a woman that is going to have a baby. The father of the baby is doing the video. He says, “So, here’s the deal. You meet this girl. Three months later, you’re pregnant. You don’t know this girl too well. The first thing I thought was, I’m not having a baby. It was a shock. It was unplanned. I was scared. I didn’t know if I wanted to do it.” (Then he sees the ultrasound and realizes he has fathered a baby and his feelings change.)
“I didn’t know if I wanted to do it.” See, the thing is – you DID do it. And sex? It makes babies. Planned or unplanned, it is how it works. If you don’t feel like you know her too well at three months, well, maybe you shouldn’t be having sex?
It just pisses me off to no end when people don’t seem to realize the consequences to their own actions. I realize, I’ve been there. I’m not perfect. But now it bugs the crap out of me. Somedays we seem to live is such a shallow, “in the moment” world, where people don’t realize that the things that they do today have a ripple effect into tomorrow.

SO TRUE….WE HAVE PLANNED PARENTHOOD IN THE USA…IT SEEMS ALL SOCIETY OFFERS …IS HELP/OR ADVICE AFTER THE FACT…..NOT REALLY PREVENTING/OR PLANNING AHEAD…

Well, you can enjoy sex without having babies! Use birth prevention techniques. It’s as simple as that!

Everytime I hear the words “accidently got pregnant” I want to SCREAM!!! I want to yell ” Did you have sex? Hello?” I’ve managed to practice safe sex since I was 15. Now I’m 32 and have been trying to get pregnant since June. Funny how things change.
