Mosquito Season Already?
Posted on March 9, 2005 by Christine | 7 Comments
Wow. It’s only March 9th, and already the Mosquito Spray Trucks are driving through our neighborhood. How crazy is that? I saw the first mosquitos last week though, so I guess it’s time already.
Have I ever mentioned how much I hate Houston sometimes? Mosquitos in March. Insane.

Wow. I think we got a while before that happens. I think you need standing water and grass for mosquitos. They don’t like ice and snow.

*giggle* Yeah, I think you have awhile before they head your way. Although I will say that you haven’t really experience mosquitos until you visit Minnesota and North Dakota… It’s so beautiful up there, I never really expect them to be so bad. It always catches me off guard!
Here they just never end. We will have them well into the fall months. March to October or November. How annoying!

I chilled on Emily’s porch the other night and managed to not get bitten. generally they swarm to me and eat me alive.

Yep, they’re spraying here too! And the paper just reported the first case of West Nile Virus for this year!

No skeeters here for another 5 months or so. The blackflies will be out in force soon, though.

I’d die… Mosquitoes think I’m a rare delicacy.
