The One, Lone Resolution…

Posted on January 1, 2005 by Christine | 23 Comments

I have one lone resolution this year. It’s the one that gazillions of people have at the start of every new year. Starting tomorrow, I’m working to be the smaller pink cookie. (Get it? Smaller. Yep, I’m a riot tonight!)

Who else is starting off the new year with a diet? My goal? Lose 5 pounds a month in 2005. 5 in ’5. Who wants to join me? Anyone? (If you’re blogging about it, point me to your site so I can follow along!)

That sounds like a good resolution. Considering I spent yesterday eating non-stop, I doubt I’d be able to do it. heh

I’m all in for resolutions, especially for slimming or trimming or living large being more lithe, but what’s the plan? Okay so here’s an unsolicited recommendation for any all looking to stick to and succeed with their resolution I found last year that an adjustment to my diet worked far better than any diet I ever tried. For example instead of changing what I eat I changed the size of the components of what I ate. I.E if pasta then 40% Pasta 60% sausage or meatballs. I’m sure it’s nothing new to everyone but it was just a tweak in proportions and within 4 months (and with some cardio) 15 pounds were gone. Also, giving up 1 soda a day was helpful I’m sure.

P.S. I loved reading about the snow in Houston on Christmas. I LOVE SNOW no matter where, no matter when. HAPPY NEW YEAR

I just left an in depth post. I hope it worked. Don’t see there. Oopps. Anyway. I found that adjusting my diet, not dieting was the way to go.

Hope the post is up there.

Yeah, I’m back on the diet thing, too. I lost 30 pounds since March of last year. Of course, the holidays wrecked that a bit (and I’ll freely admit that I LET it happen)…so now it’s time to be more careful with what I’m doing!

I blame it all on the Lindt Truffles that people bought us for Christmas…

I wanna 10 in ’05, which would get me down about 50lbs by my wedding, but hahahahaha. that’s a joke. so perhaps 5 in ’05 will be possible.

This year, as I mentioned, wasn't a banner year for weight loss for me. I was beating myself up about it all year long, but I had to finally step back and reevaluate the whole situation. I was 307 freakin' pounds 2 years ago at this time. I&a…

I haven’t made resolutions for 2005 yet, simply because I haven’t thought of any that I knew I could hold…

Okay, yeah, so I've said this before. You've all been there. But this time…this time..there will be much ass kicking! For real. Shutty! Christine resolved to lose some weight this year and has created a little challenge of sorts. It's …

I don’t want to lose 5 in ’05 because then I’ll just be stick thin (since I’m barely 5′ and only weigh 127#). I don’t need to lose any weight (maybe just 10 pounds total) but I would like to lose some inches here and there. I’m all for supporting you (and being a nag when I think you’re slacking), but to me, 5 in ’05 will be a combo of things. :)

Resolutions unfortunately don’t work. The best thing to do when it comes to wanting to lose weight is lifestyle and the willingness to change. Diet and exercise the two components to weight loss. And lets not forget the good fats. You need good fats to lose weight. Almonds, olive oil, advacado, black olives and my favorite 70% chocolate. Add in whole grains, chicken, fish, and fruits and veggies and you have the recipe to drop the pounds. Enjoy the new gorgeous slim you and forget the resolutions. THINK LIFESTYLE!!!
