Jolly Flickin’ Holidays!

Excuse me for a moment while I point out that it is really, really, flickin’ hard to get in the “Ho Ho Holiday Spirit” when it’s 79 degrees outside, perfectly gorgeous and sunny.
Santa’s gift to Houston is the summer we always dream of having. Only problem is, we’re getting it in December.
I want to put up my Christmas lights, but it’s just not the same when you’re busy slapping the mosquitos on your legs and arms. Ugh. How do the people in Australia manage to find their holiday cheer in weather like this?

I don’t mind that it’s not cold, but I’d sure like my yard to dry up before it decides to rain again. Our side yard is like a pond.

Just use some mosquito repellant so you can get those lights up to enjoy! Merry Christmas and run your a.c. so you can light your fireplace!

About 20ish years ago it was -really- cold for the holidays. I rememeber my going with my parents to look at Christmas lights, and the roads were icy. I don’t remember it feeling ‘more’ Christmas’y though LOL

If you miss cold at Christmas time, possibly snow, you’re welcome to visit Connecticut where we live. I’m sure someone in Maine would invite you all up, too, if you wanted guaranteed snow!

There is something right about getting up on Christmas morning and darting out to turn on the air-conditioner so that the tree survives another few days. Our Christmas’ aren’t much different, those in the north stay inside for the warmth, we stay inside for the opposite.
