Starting from Scratch?
I’ve looked at the options for exporting my blog from WordPress and back in to MT (PapaScott’s Export from WordPress and Carthik’s option) and … well, there is one problem. I have a LOT of posts. I mean, a LOT. Like 6000 posts or some crazy number like that. I’m afraid that the options out there will cause my server to seize up in to a coughing, wheezing ball if I try to run either of them. The load would be just to much to bear, and would probably fall apart somewhere in the middle.
I just don’t see a good solution.
Would it be wrong of me to just start fresh? To point people to the old site if they want to run a search? Or better yet, to test out something like the Google “search within this site” option to allow people to search both the MT and WP versions of my site?
I hate to lose the history. I would include the old archives in my archive page somehow. But moving data around just doesn’t seem to make sense, and it is the only roadblock in my move back to MT.
So is it wrong to start fresh? Or should I just go for it? I’m asking you guys because you’re more likely to look at old archives than I am. If I need something, I just go to Google. (They seem to index all of my posts there anyways!) So, what do you think? Your opinion matters!

Makes a Mother Proud…
We still had two slices of pumpkin pie left from last week. Jason decided he wanted some pie. His first request sounded like something from weebl and bob. “I want pie. Mmmm… pie.”
Mike went out to the kitchen to get him a slice of pie, but he hadn’t heard Jason’s whole special pie request, so I told Jason he had to sing his pie request. I meant for him to just repeat what he said.
Instead, he sang a whole song about how he wanted pie to the “Camptown Races” toon. All of it. “Oh I want pie, want pie right now, oh, doo da day…”
I’m still giggling just thinking about it. What a way to make us proud!
Pie is good. Mmmmm… pie!

Bloghosts, 1 Month and Counting…
I had posted this before, but it has been a few weeks so I wanted to remind everyone again. If you host with Bloghosts, they will be closing their doors at the end of the year. Pretty sad, since they started up about the same time as I started Blogomania.
With over 370 clients and growing, Blogomania isn’t going anywhere. We know that moving a site is a royal pain, and to help ease the pain for those people affected by this transition, we are offering a free month of hosting to all new Blogomania clients that come from Bloghosts. Just note in the “where did you hear about us?” field of the registration form that you are coming from Bloghosts, and we’ll hook you up. We can even assist you with the migration of your site to make the moving process easier on you.
One month. FREE. (It seemed worth repeating.)
I know people have been looking for WordPress friendly hosts - we have the servers configured with everything that you need, and we even offer Fantastico, which allows you to install WordPress in a matter of minutes. Very, very smooth.
So let us know if we can help. It takes a day or two to do a migration, so I dread seeing a mad crunch at the end of everyone trying to move at once. Move now while it’s not such a rush!

Boston!
I’m so excited! I’ve finally started posting photos from our trip to Boston in August, 2003 at Pixelog! Whoo hoo! I know, I know, it’s the little things that amuse me. I think after the Boston photos I have, I’m going to jump ahead and work on wedding and honeymoon photos. Having passed the 6 month mark now, it’s about time I edit those, isn’t it?
Looking at the Boston photos makes me really miss the city. *sigh* I want to go back! Soon!

Lockergnome’s RSS & Atom Tips…
I have always loved RSS. I loved my feedreader long before feedreaders were cool. I have tried to encourage everyone I know to use RSS, to offer up a good solid RSS feed (full posts, PLEASE). For awhile, I was surfing sites one at a time, but I’ve taken to using Bloglines and I enjoy being able to zoom through my reads at a much faster pace.
The point of all of this? I’m now going to share my love of RSS (and Atom) with the rest of the world, thanks to the Lockergnome’s RSS & Atom Tips channel. Be sure to subscribe to the feed so you can watch for updates!

Critical Bug in MT-Blacklist…
Just doing my part to help spread the word about this MT-Blacklist v2.x bug - don’t delete any weblogs you have if you are running this version of MT-Blacklist. When you delete one weblog, it will delete a second weblog. As long as you don’t delete any weblogs, there shouldn’t be any problems. Just keep them up and running until there is a fix issued.

6 Months…

Today marks our 6 month wedding anniversary. Hard to believe how quickly time flies! I don’t think I ever dreamed that I would someday marry such a wonderful man. I am truly blessed.
We took this photograph on the beach the day after the wedding. I really wanted beach photos, but I wasn’t going to risk wearing my dress down to the Seawall until after the wedding day. Since we were married down in Galveston, beach photos only seemed appropriate. So we dragged Rannie out into the sweltering heat to take them for us. Considering how much I love these chairs and umbrellas, it was only appropriate to take some pictures while sitting in them.

A Christmas Story…
The holidays are here! I think that everyone needs A Christmas Story Leg Light String to complete their holiday decorations. Or how about a 10″ Talking Ralphie, complete with the Red Ryder gun of his dreams! If you prefer, you can collect the figurines.
The perfect gift for someone you love might just be to buy them an actual leg lamp - or, if you prefer, you can get them the desk lamp version.
Come on … I triple dog dare you!
