Halloween Homework…

Posted on October 31, 2003 by Christine | 12 Comments

Really? No one has any Halloween Thoughts they want to share? Come on, it’s Halloween! Did everyone have parents that just locked them up in the basement and didn’t let them go out to trick-or-treat?

I’ll go first by answering my own questions:
- I’ve already shared some of my favorite memories from Halloween.
- I only dress up now for the costume parties, but maybe I’ll dress up in last year’s purple haired witch costume to trick-or-treat with Jason tonight.
- I am planning on going to a costume party this year at EJ’s, but I can’t tell what my costume is. The theme for the party is “Dictators & Terrorists” – what do YOU think I should dress up as?
- My favorite Halloween candy is a toss up between the large Tootsie Rolls and the mini Reese’s peanut butter cups. I absolutely hate the peanut butter things in the orange and black wrappers.

So, how about you? Trick-or-Treat!

I’ve pretty much dressed up every year, even when I had no where to go. I think I went trick or treating until I was in my late teens, living in a small town I guess I could get away with it.

Favorite candy? Smarties or blow pops!

Happy Halloween. I’ll see you when I get back from MN.

My best memories were when I was finally old enough to go out trick-or-treating alone with my friends–no adults. We were always good kids, but it was just so great to be out by ourselves at night.

My costumes were always homemade and very last minute. I was a pretty creative kid, so I could pull it off pretty well.

i love tootsie rolls!!! and mr. goodbars miniatures.

As I type I’m waiting for my hair to dry. It will be black instead of blonde, my face is green with ugly scars on it, and I’ve got big clumpy boots on!

    Frankensteins monster!!!

Imelda Marcos – lots of shoes.
The year my treaters are getting Blow Pops and mini Reese’s Sticks.
…And I’m not saying what I’m dressing up as yet!

I love ALL the candy you can get on halloween. Yes, even the orange or black wrapped candies. Besides I am on a major diet for this year’s MC Ball, and this is the only night I am allowing my self to touch something even candy-like.

As far as trick-or-treating as a child I miss those nights. I would “t-o-t” back home in Texas at my Mamaw’s neighborhood of Wautaga. I had a blast. That was truly a safe neighborhood to my whole family. We knew all of the residents [well, almost all of them.] My Mamaw’s house was the first house built in the area and my mother was raised there. Geez, that sounds almost unrealistic. LOL I REALLY miss that. BUT my daughter gets to “t-o-t” on base near our housing which is almost just as safe. She’s a full blown Pegasus [it's one of those deluxe children's costumes]. It’s adorable!

I LOVE halloween. :D My favorite part has now become doing fancy designs on the pumpkins. I used to love sculpting, and I guess it sort of gets that out of my system for the year. ;-) I used to love dressing up, but no store bought costumes. We always used to make our own. Favorite candy? Almond Joy. (Shh… I hid them all on the bottom of the bowl so no one would know to look for them! LOL! Of course I could just BUY THEM FOR MYSELF, but then I’d have to let on what I was doing) ;-)

My favorite memories from halloween? Definatly going out to eat with the whole family and to a movie.

Dress up for halloween? Never did… I was one of those “deprived” children :)

A senior in college and I still have NEVER dressed up for halloween, never gone trick-or-treating, and never been to a halloween… and surprizingly I’ve been able to avoid psychiatric help to date!

The best halowwen candy is peanut butter cups… or those sugar candy sticks that used to be called candy cigaretts. Mmmmm…

The worst? Anything with a “crunchy” peanut butter center… yuck!

“Dictators & Terrorists” I would dress up as George W Bush.

Hmmm, my favorite candy is Jr. Mints, although the Halloween size boxes are teeny. Also love York Patties — see a pattern here???
