I have a confession. I’m musically clueless. I never know anything by the latest groups, or even not the latest, but the ones I shouldn’t have missed. I seem to stay a pretty steady 2-3 years behind the tunes. It’s sad, but true. But now I have Music Utopia at my fingertips. I seem to be able to access almost anything. (I am annoyed that there is nothing by No Doubt, but that’s the only thing missing so far.) I am having a blast with Listen.com!

Here is where you come in. Can you clue me in to your own personal Fab Five? The artists you just can’t live without? Or your favorite CDs - whatever works for you. I’m just in the mood to explore the musical world out there, and I need YOU to help guide me! I have very eclectic music tastes - I’ll listen to almost anything. It’s up to you to keep me from listening to Rick Astley and the Bee Gees all the time though, ok? (Although right now I’m listening to John Mayer, “Room for Squares”)

Won’t you share? Please? I’ve tried surfing blogs for playlists, but I can only find a few, and I’ve added all those groups already. So I really need you to share your music love!

Update: By the way - if you want to list more than 5, go ahead. I was just thinking of watching Queer Eye at the time I wrote this, so “Fab 5″ came to mind! Share, share away!

So far, what I have seen of the Rhapsody Digital Music Service ROCKS! Every artist I can think of is available. From big names like Madonna and Sting to comedians like Stephen Lynch and Rodney Carrington. I already have a play list in my library that is a mile long. I have to test out how the CD burner feature works, and to do that I need to set up the software on the other computer. I will report back on that - but for now, two thumbs up!

Rob pointed me to eMusic, which allows you to download mp3s in a really neat sounding service. I didn’t find the same artist selection available though - and most of my music listening is while online and at a computer - and I want a variety of songs available to me.

I wonder if I can hook my stereo receiver up to WiFi somehow and play across the network. Something to research, that’s for sure!

I’ve found an amusing way to absolutely annoy the heck out of Jason. Whenever the commercial for those Skippy Squeeze Stixs things comes on, I sing along. It’s this annoying kiddy-rap commercial that comes on way too often on Cartoon Network. “Squeeze the Skippy, it’s the Skippy you Squeeze!” The second the commercial starts, Jason grabs the Tivo remote hoping he can fast forward through it. I sing along. He glares at me, and I laugh. Cracks me up every time. Almost as much fun as saying “Harry Potter!” with my fake British accent. He hates it when I do that!

On a completely unrelated note, I really want a pink phone like Faith’s. It’s too adorable!

I went to Best Buy earlier to pick up a new headset for my cell phone and a new copy of Age of Empires II for Jason (I lost his first copy. It has to be here somewhere, but I haven’t been able to find it for two weeks.) While I was there, I spotted CDs for a free 14-day trial of Rhapsody Digital Music Service. Has anyone tried it? Is it going to be another nightmare experience like Jennifer’s whole BuyMusic experience? Any tips or info would be appreciated!

It seems that if I don’t post on my site often, my main column gets way too short, and the sidebar is too long. Quite amusing. I guess I need to do something about that…

Jason wanted to watch The Lord of the Rings “The Two Towers” right away this weekend, but I had to watch “The Fellowship of the Ring” (Extended Edition) first. He didn’t want to watch it with me at first, but once he came out and started watching it, now he’s mesmerized. I love these movies - I can’t wait for “The Return of the King”!

I should also mention that surround sound speakers ROCK. I love it!

Now I think it’s time to download some Aragorn wallpaper and screensavers. Yummmm…

Mad props to Larry for letting me know that NPR’s All Things Considered had a commentary on the Spork on Friday. I just had to share! Thanks Larry for the tip!

Spork posse power!

In case you ever wondered, now you can find out MSN Entertainment - News - Who the ‘Queer Eye’ Guys were before they became the Fab 5. Turns out they haven’t been going on missions all their life like they do now!

Did you know that Picture Yourself has over 1,227 photographs already? So, where is yours?

I’m simply giddy with glee to see that D has returned to Acerbia! Man, I need to call Mike to let him know in case he doesn’t already. I wonder how long it will be before they are plotting about mechanical cyborg squirrels that spy on people and things like that…

Now, thanks to D, I can learn all about how to be an Evil Genius. After today, my title of being “Pure Evil” just isn’t good enough. I need to be an “Evil Genius” fast!

On a separate but somehow related note (just don’t ask me how because I’m not sure), I am now the proud owner of Lord of The Rings - Two Towers on DVD. And while I know better, I am really tempted to stay up for 3 hours to watch it. I will resist, but only because I want to watch the first one again before I watch the second one - a little LoTR marathon!

All is well, but … I don’t know what is up. I’ve been boycotting the computer for days. This is very strange for me. Normally my only computer free times are due to vacations and a lack of web access. Not right now. Right now I’m busy at work, and busy at home. Friday I had no web access - they had taken it down in an effort to stop the Sobig virus, and it took me hours to get my cable modem to come back online. They finally had to push me a new IP or something like that. You know, techno things that require going in to a DOS prompt and all that.

Saturday was spent running errands, heading to Mike’s company picnic as long as we could stand the heat, and picking up Naomi’s couch. Her roommate decided to let Enrico pick it up while I was in Boston, and he put it in storage for a few weeks. I didn’t want to pay for another month of storage, so it was time to move it. (I’m so glad to see Enrico’s blog up and running - good stuff… very good stuff…) Rearranging and moving furniture wears you out, and I didn’t even have to carry it up the stairs! Thank goodness for nice neighbors!

Sunday was spent cleaning, cleaning and more cleaning. Rearranging. Hanging pictures in the kitchen. Cleaning out closets. Busy, busy things. I’ve been feeling quiet along with stressed and frustrated with all of this clutter. I’m throwing out everything I can, and whatever isn’t going in the trash is going to be sold at a garage sale or on eBay. It needs to GO. Amazing how cathartic a clean closet can be.

Today I hit the ground running at work, and didn’t stop until after 8:00 tonight. Quite a day.

I feel drained. I have nothing to say. I have so much I want to do, and it seems like there is never enough time to do it all. So if I’m not around, you’ll know where to find me.

On a positive note, to go with the new couch and my new amazingly comfy Ikea chair (my back is so thankful right now!), I am going to frame some of my photos and make a photo collage on the wall over the “new” couch (once I move it). I’m really excited - it’s time those photos are shown off some place else besides online. I can’t wait to see how the completed project turns out!

My Dad cracks me up. Tonight we were swapping jokes, and he told me he cut this out of the trivia section of the newspaper. Think long and hard about it before you answer in the comments…

What is the first thing you know?

I just came across this article with tips on Diet at your Desk and it reminded me that I received an e-mail from Weight Watchers the other day announcing a new flex point system. Unfortunately, there wasn’t any information on the website to allow me to learn more about it. Anyone know? Anyone have any details? I may just have to start going to the meetings in downtown again to find out - I’m really curious! If you know anything about it (or want to share Weight Watchers tips), leave a comment!

Yes, yes, I’m alive and well. Jish is in Houston visiting, and Mike & I had dinner with him Tuesday night after he arrived in Houston, and last night we had a great H-Town Blogs gathering with Jish as our “guest of honor”. Good times, good times. Too busy tonight working on Blogomania things though to stop and focus on writing about it. Soon. With pictures.

I knew I had better stop and make a post though when Sandi, a former co-worker and a friend of mine for many years that keeps up with me through my blog, e-mailed me today to make sure I was ok! I find that very comforting though that she checked on me like that.

Thank you to everyone that came out last night for dinner, and for those that couldn’t make it - we missed you!
