For your entertainment while I can’t sleep - check out The Daily Show with Jon Stewart “Bush v. Bush” - too, too funny! Watch the president debate himself! Good night, and may God continue to bless America… [Via Geoff]

Now if only I wasn’t so wired and I could go back to sleep…

Time is a funny thing when you stop to think about it. 12 hours from now I’ll be rushing around trying to get everything wrapped up at work. 24 hours from now, I’ll be at Jennifer’s house.

48 hours from now, the “H-Town meets Beantown” gathering will have come and gone. 22 people so far are attending, and there are still 15 that have not RSVP’ed yet. I’m not surprised, but I am disappointed, that Dave Winer has not RSVP’d. Meanwhile, Dave Weinberger is on vacation, so I won’t be able to get him to sign the book that I forgot to take to SXSW. Oh yes, there will be book signings my friends. I didn’t win that Anti-Bloggie for nothing!

There are some people though that have not RSVP’d that I really expected to see there. *cough*Dave*cough* Hopefully they will RSVP by Friday though.

Laundry is done, clothes need to be folded and packed. Then I have to weed back through what I packed and take out the extra clothes I won’t need. Right now I’m getting the laptop all set up though so I can use it on the plane. I still need to print nametags for Friday, and try to come up with blog cards for Mike. I also need to print up more of my blog cards. You know, the little things. I’ll be using NewzCrawler to catch up on blog reading, so if you have an RSS feed, let me know!

No time to talk. No time to stop and think even. Took time, however, to update Pixelog. A good photo always soothes me.

Things to do tonight:
- Pack clothes.
- Pack cameras.
- Drop off the rent check.
- Clean the hermit crab house.
- Print more Big Pink Cookie cards.
- Print nametags for Friday night.
- Obsess over whether or not I forgot anything.
- Panic, worry.
- Double check what I packed. Make sure I have everything I need, but don’t have too much.
- Make sure I have enough film.
- Try to relax and unwind…

24 hours from now, I will be taking off for Boston! Wheee!

Ok now, back to work…

I’ve seen the commercials for it, and I’ve been meaning to check it out … and I must say, I absolutely LOVE Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. Love it, love it, love it! I laughed so hard through the two episodes I watched tonight - if you have never seen it, I highly recommend it!

What is it? Five gay men set out to make over a straight guy. Their comments about everything from the hair, the wardrobe, the kitchen, and the house are classic. The best part is when the guys leave and they watch the straight guy interact with his girlfriend afterwards - they walk through what he’s doing, and I laughed so hard I almost fell off the couch!

Any other Queer Eye fans out there? I know that William Ted is a fan, but I would love to hear from more. My Tivo has a new season pass to record!

I sat at the receptionist’s desk today while she was at lunch (we rotate her lunch coverage) and now I am in perfume hell. Gag. My hands smell like her perfume. My hair smells like her perfume from it being on the phone. My neck smells like her perfume. My eyes are itchy and watery, and the smell is almost enough to make me sick. Gag.

Nasty perfumes should be banned. Especially when other people have to use your phone. *cough, cough, gag*

You may have noticed yesterday that if you popped in here at BPC, there was no site to be found. I’m sure you were shocked and confused … as I was when I discovered it myself! It turns out … well … uhm … I’m a dork. At the beginning of the month, I remembered that the domain was coming up for renewal, mainly because I set the site up last year during the Blogathon. So if it was Blogathon time again, it must be time to renew. However, I didn’t have my PayPal card handy at the time - so I put it off. And in the chaos and mayhem of my life lately, I forgot to do it. So, it lapsed for a few hours, but once I fixed the problem it still took several hours (and for some people a whole day) to resolve so you could see the site again.

Even more frustrating is the fact that this is actually the second time this has happened. So last night I calendared everything else that is coming up due in the next year - and it won’t happen again!

Really now, why can’t *every* store be more like the Free Store? Because I am all about the free. Shopping would be so much more fun if you didn’t have to pay for a thing and it was perfectly legal to do so. [via Ste.]

However, I guess it would be a flawed system. Eventually, we would want to be paid for the work we do - because while we are all about taking things for free, I don’t think there are many people that are willing to work all the time for free.

Oh well, I would still love to check out the Free Store.

My site is back! My site is back! The Evites have gone out for H-Town meets Beantown on Friday! All is good in the world!

If you’re going to be in Boston, near Boston, or want to go to Boston for dinner and drinks Friday at 6pm in Harvard Square, let me know. You will get an Evite too!

I can’t help but wonder if my love of Boston is somehow tied to the fact that the first Selleck in America, David Selleck, moved to Boston in 1641? He was a “Boston Soape boyler,” which is also ironic because I make soap. I would check out the site where David Selleck lived next week in Boston, except it’s part of the Big Dig now.

More information on the family tree is here.

I could have posted about all the people doing the Blogathon earlier, but I was offline running in circles around Houston, so this is the first time I’ve sat down with the computer all day. If you want my opinion, after midnight is when the Blogathon really gets funny - people get way too punchy and slap-happy! I wish I had money to donate to all the Blogathon’ers out there, but I don’t. If you want to check out some of the sites participating (and hopefully donate to their causes), you can visit the sites listed below!

I have housework ADD. First I started in the kitchen. Clean the counter, scrub the sink… oh look, this goes in the bathroom, not the kitchen. Cart the item off to the bathroom. Oh look, I should put this away. You know, I should paint my nails - I really need to paint my nails. You know, I want to read some more Harry Potter today. I should do laundry…

Finally, I realized I needed to get back to cleaning the kitchen.

If I keep this up, I will never get my housework done!

Jennifer pointed out BuyMusic.com the other day, and it seemed so wonderful to have a music alternative for PC users. I was looking forward to the weekend and the chance to dig through the site to learn more about it and the features they offer.

Fortunately for me, although unfortunate for Jenn, they showed their true colors yesterday with downloads that don’t work, CDs that can’t be created, and customer service that just really doesn’t give a damn. Yes, yes, you can read all about it on her blog and over at ScriptyGoddess.

After all she has been through, I doubt I will ever give them so much as a dime unless they have some serious changes to how they do business and to their privacy policies. Spread the word and warn your friends!

Back in 1984, I went to my first and only Cubs game in Chicago. They played the Astros, and later that year we found out we were moving to Houston. Tonight? Tonight I’ll be sitting in Section 306, Row 5 at MinuteMaid Park (click on the section number on the map and you can see the view from my seat) watching the Astros play the Cubs. I’ll be rooting for my home team, but I’ll be thinking of Dawn, my favorite Cubs fan, at the same time. Really, I don’t care who wins - I just love going to the baseball game!

Watch the Moblog for live shots from the field! Maybe I’ll get lucky and catch a fly ball! (As long as I don’t get hit in the head with one!) The day is ending a lot better than it started!

“Take Me Out to the Ballgame” lyrics found here - everyone sing along!
