I am worth exactly $1,672,062.00. Calculated thanks to Human For Sale, found thanks to Wantwit and Melissa. Both of them are worth a lot more than I am.

By the way, I also hijacked this picture from FilePile. It cracks me up. Added later: I should give credit to the person that posted it, but guess what? There is no link to their site. Oh well, bummer. Their user name on FilePile is Gegtik though. That’s the best I can offer right now.
If you had to pick a famous person…
If you had to pick a famous person that you look like, who would it be? I have been told I look like Belinda Carlisle (of the Go-Go’s) and Sally Fields (during the Gidget years). The funny thing about Belinda Carlisle is that our hair cuts seem to remain pretty similar - mine was short, hers was short; mine was long, hers was long. Then to top it off, when I was pregnant with Jason, she was pregnant too!
So who is your famous person? Leave it in the comments or send me an e-mail. I am curious. I want to know…
Today’s little bit of humor:
A duck walks into a bar and orders a beer. The bartender says, “Oh my god, a talking duck!” The duck says, “Yeah, yeah, just gimme my beer.” So the bartender gives him a beer, and says, “Where do you come from, anyway?” The duck says, “I’m from around here. I work at the construction site across the street.” The bartender says, “Jeez, you should join the circus, you’d get rich!” The duck says, “What the hell would a circus need with a bricklayer?”

I was just looking through the log, and came across these interesting queries that people used to find my site:
my short story do family doing tonight (editor’s comment: HUH??!???)
“kansas city” “custom labs” digital
Of course the most common one is a search for “blah”, searched for 7 times between 8:14pm Sunday and 4:27pm Monday. A total of 14 out of 20 queries overall since 1:51am Friday until 10:08 pm tonight. *Why* would you search for the word “blah”? Does everyone do the thing that I do? (Where I get the Elaine sound from Seinfeld and I say “and blah blah blah…”?) And then they just wonder what they will hit if they do a queary? I don’t know. I just find it amusing.
From Spring I found out that Bush is communing with cows. He talks about his ranch here in Texas and how he says, “I love to go walking out there, seeing the cows. Occasionally they talk to me, being the good listener that I am”. Ummmmm… ok. I am a good listener. Cows don’t talk to me. I just find this hysterical. The man is crazy. Can we *please* recount those Florida votes now? Can we just have a “do-over”? Ugh. I hate Duhbya. Here is the full article.
[Christine walks away, shaking her head… mumbling about how much of a fruitcake the man is…]
Yes, Mar, I knew you could shop online at Lush, but why bother when Sudsalicious is in my kitchen cabinets? (and storage closet, and dining room, and spare bathroom cabinets… lol) Now I just need to get *more* supplies and meanwhile replace the cart online so I am all ready for the holidays!
Note: This is *not* intended to be a shameless self-promotion, although it could be if I wanted to because it is my site after all - but for now the cart is down at Sudsalicious and I am overhauling what scents & products are offered, so you can’t order right now anyways!
OOPS!!! See, I *knew* I was forgetting people in Houston. That’s what I get for babbling fast off the top of my head. I forgot to mention the ever wonderful Sabby, Darling who is in Houston. Laura is here in Houston too, but I met her thanks to the FC, not the web. I met lots of great people there … Naomi, Kymberlie, Ken, Bill, Mauro, Carlos, Lilly… ok, I am going to stop now before I name the entire staff that I ever worked with there with the few exceptions.
So the people in Houston don’t suck (unless you are looking for someone to date, but I will save that rant for a later date, and I suspect that is an issue nationwide) but the *weather* definately sucks. BAD. And it is lacking quite a bit in scenary. The Hill Country doesn’t hold too much on the Mississippi River Valley in Minnesota. Sorry. Plus who can appreciate it when you are *melting* from the heat?
So, what do you think of the icons on the right side? Should I add more? Less? Change the “section” titles to handwriting font to match the lettering in the “Blah Blah Blog” logo? Decisions, decisions. I like feedback … talk back to me.
I added more of the pictures that Naomi took of me the other night to the left. While I was working on that, Mona came over for some love. I wasn’t paying enough attention to her, so she started to rub her head against my arm, my chest, the corner of the laptop. Whatever she could find. After awhile she settled down to sleep, and Murphy came over and laid on the floor, a safe distance away of course. The second I stand up they both ran to the kitchen, hoping they would get more food. Yep, Murphy is on the verge of starving to death … right after I put his fat kitty butt on a diet!
I think *this* would be the PERFECT design for it. I wonder if I can talk her in to blogging? It would be very theraputic for her I think. Well, it works for me so it should work for everyone, right?
Isn’t it always a happy surprise when you find a website for someone local? I don’t know about you, but I love it when I find people in Texas, like Sherry, Nicole, Melissa (who is in Houston right now but moving to Austin soon), and Pamela (plus everyone else I forgot to list here that I have “met”), and it is especially cool when they are from Houston, like Gwen. I am *still* laughing after reading Gwen’s Distorted Self-image. Wow, those daily affirmations at the end sound way too familiar. Hey, when you can’t find clothes that fit right and make you feel good, walk away from the dressing room and go find some bitchin’ shoes! Hey Gwen, maybe I’ll see you at Payless someday!
I found Gwen through Sometimes I… - another Texan! As much as I hate this state, I guess I should confess that there sure are a lot of cool people here.
I enjoyed reading Earthmovers and Sandcastles so much, and the pictures of her and her baby, Sam, are soooo sweet. Wow. The memories it brings back. I really wish I could shrink Jason so he was a baby again like that and I could enjoy that time all over again. I tried the dryer, but it didn’t work… Well, maybe someday there will be another baby in my life, whether it is my own child or a grandchild - which hopefully won’t be for another 15-20 years! They are just so cute and so sweet… (Oh, a warning for the potentially squeemish - there is lots of talk about breastfeeding and diapers there, and lots of photos. Her writing is wonderful though, so just go read it.)
On a side note, I should mention that I found Carrie’s site thanks to Cluttered Life - another new mom. And the baby dreams continue…
